This post is for Moto E but 'XPOSED FRAMEWORK' WORKS ON ALL PHONES WHICH RUN ABOVE ANDROID 4.0.3 OR LATER. STEPS REMAIN THE SAME JUST ROOT YOUR PHONE !

[Do not follow the rooting steps provided by me those are strictly for Motorola moto E]

Note: your motorola moto e must be rooted (for rooting see the another post in same blog) & I am not responsible for any damages [although none will be there :-P ]

Only Custom ROM's have functions ? No......
  • Custom ROM's come with many beautiful functions and User Interface which is impressive, but few people want stock ROM [because it is usually stable].
  • What if Someone want stock ROM & functions, User Interface, modifications from custom ROM ?
  • Solution to this is Xposed Framework!!

Xposed Framework!

Xposed is a framework for modules that can change the behavior of the system and apps without touching any APKs. That's great because it means that modules can work for different versions and even ROMs without any changes (as long as the original code was not changed too much). It's also easy to undo. As all changes are done in the memory, you just need to deactivate the module and reboot to get your original system back. There are many other advantages, but here is just one more: Multiple modules can do changes to the same part of the system or app. With modified APKs, you to decide for one.

Modifications that impressed me....

  • Change the brightness of your phone by just swiping status bar!
  • Change the status bar background [i.e put a custom Image]
  • Change status bar background's transparency
  • Add remove tiles from Quick settings, change its size!
  • When someone calls put your phone on silent by just turning it upside-down [NO need to press anything :-P]
  • Add the RAM usage bar in recent usage apps
  • Instead of clearing apps one by one in recent window, add a button to clear all the recent apps in background.
  •  Add functions to few apps which require xposed framework, e.g. Greenify !
  • Change color of status bar icons, adjust clock position etc.
  • Add CyanogenMod Pie Controls
  • Add Lockscreen tweaks
  • Add Screen recording,Display tweaks,Power tweaks..
    And this list continues.....

All this without flashing custom ROM & just modifying your Stock ROM. And we can roll back changes too by resetting and uninstalling the framework and apps ! :-)

    How to do ?

    1. Make sure your Moto E is rooted [for rooting check this link from my blog  http://goo.gl/K1qaMl ]
    2. Install the stable Xposed framework version [Experimental is fine, but has few bugs always]
    3. To download Xposed framework go to there official website :-http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
    4. Install this apk and then open it, now we need to install this framework.
    5. Click on framework click on Install/update & grant superuser permission when asked for & reboot.
    6. If properly installed Xposed framework will show active numbers under framework option [before Installing active process had nothing below it].
    7. Now go to downloads option under Xposed Framework and download as much modules as you want for modifying your phone !
    8. Modules must be activated and phone must be rebooted, then open the module and start making changes to your stock ROM!
    9. Enjoy
    What are Modules ?
    • Xposed framework is just a environment that helps you too run all this modules that are developed, it actually can do no changes except for providing the environment for modules.
    • Modules are the apps which will actually provide you options for changes to be done
    • BUT DO NOT UNINSTALL FRAMEWORK, MODULES WONT RUN!
    • You can manually download apk's and install or can go to Xposed Framework>Downloads and download !
    • For manual downloading go to:-http://repo.xposed.info/module-overview
    • Enjoy :-)
The few modules that i recommend are Greenify [available on google play], Gravity Box, XBlast tools etc...

[The Xposed framework is made by rovo89, Tungstwenty ,credit goes to these guys. this post was only regarding how to use that]
