M8 Pictures/Music Missing After Moving Them To SD Card
ProblemHi I was wondering if it’ll be possible for you to give me some form of an explanation of this because I am extremely lost. I updated my phone and upon doing so decided to explore to see what was new I noticed everything I downloaded was saving to the phone instead of the sd card I have in my phone so I went to move everything from the phone to the sd and now I am unable to view the pictures and now have no music. So I am curious is there a way to retrieve the items or are they forever lost? Also looking in my storage it shows in neither the phone or sd storage space these missing items as far as memory left goes. If you are able to reply that would be absolutely awesome and I would greatly appreciate it. Please and thank you.
Solution: One of the new features of the Lollipop update is the ability of the app to access the microSD card. This means that apps will be able to store data and even be installed in the external storage space of your phone. There are instances however when issues arise mainly because the app that is having a problem has not been updated yet to take advantage of the Lollipop software.
Regarding your data that seems to be lost the best way to check if they are still in your phone is to use the free software called HTC Sync Manager which you can download from the HTC website. Install this software in your computer then connect your phone to it using a USB cord. Using the software you will be able to view and even backup the data stored in your phone.
M8 Notification Sound Keeps Playing Every 30 Seconds
ProblemHello, I have had to recently replace my HTC One due to dropping it & smashing the screen. The replacement I have received is exactly the same BUT when  I receive a notification, instead of just notifying (sound) just the once, the notification sound keeps playing every 30 seconds until I either read the notification or clear it… is there any way to get rid of this? I’ve looked everywhere in settings but cannot seem to find it. Thanks a lot
Solution: Your phone notification may be set to recur for a specific time interval until you read or clear the notification. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Notification reminder. Under this setting there are various intervals you can set ranging from 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, and 5 minutes. Just turn this feature off if you don’t want to be constantly reminded.
M8 Apps Not Working On Wi-Fi After Lollipop Update
ProblemHello, I’ve been reading your articles on how to fix common problems with HTC  one M8 through Drippler. My problem hasn’t been encountered as far as I have read. I downloaded the Lollipop update on my phone 5 days ago. Ever since, I’ve encountered the following problems:
  • Whatsapp won’t download pics or video.
  • Twitter won’t open notifications that I receive.
  • I can’t sign in to various apps.
  • My banking apps won’t refresh.
All of the above only happen when I am connected to a Wifi network (various networks, I’ve tried 4 different connections), but when I turn off wifi and switch to 3G, all of what I mentioned works again.
I have tried restarting the phone, I have tried changing the wifi settings, and yesterday I did a factory reset to the phone and the problem is still persisting. A friend of mine, with the same phone and update did not encounter this problem at all. Please help.
Solution: Usually, if this is an upgrade related issue, the factory reset will have resolved the problem. In this case however it still persists. Have you tried turning off the Auto network switch setting of your phone?
  • From a Home screen, tap Apps icon
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Wi-Fi.
  • Tap Menu icon
  • Tap Advanced.
  • Tap Auto switch to mobile network to enable or disable. (Make sure it does not have a check mark)
If the issue persists then there may be something wrong with the Wi-Fi hardware component of your phone. I suggest bringing your phone to an authorize service center for checking.
M8 Headphones Stopped Working
ProblemHi. I saw your posts about issues with HTC One M8, and since I wasn’t able to find a solution to my problem, I wanted to know if you can help me. I have my HTC for 5 and a half months, and everything was fine until 2 months ago when my headphones stopped playing music. I somehow managed to solve the problem with the SoundAbout app, but with the 4.4.4 version of Android, that stopped working too. I just updated my Android to Lollipop 5.0.1 but the problem is still there. I would really appreciate it if you can offer me any advice on how to solve this thing, since I can’t function without music. Best regards.
Solution: Try using a different pair of headphones first and see if this works. If it does then the one you are using may already be faulty. You should also check the 3.5mm audio port of your phone if there are any dirt present inside. If you spot any you can clean this out using a toothpick.
In some cases the problem is caused by a glitch in the software. To resolve this you need to do a factory reset. Just make sure to back up your phone data before proceeding.
  • Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
  • Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
  • Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.
M8 Auto Correct Keeps Turning On
ProblemHello, I have the Sprint HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition. I have had it for 5 days. The issue I have been having is with the auto correct feature. I prefer not use it. I went into the settings and turned it off. Later in the day I was typing and the auto correct was active again. I turned it off again. Suffice it to say this has happened repeatedly for five days times, randomly. I have tried turning the phone off several times after changing the setting hoping to cement it’s memory but the problem continues.  There are no in app settings for auto correct that I can find.  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Solution: Make sure to properly turn off the auto correct feature by going to Settings – Language & Keyboard – HTC Sense Input screen and toggle off.  Then move to Advanced Settings and click off Spell Correction and then Word Prediction.
If the problem still persists then try wiping the cache partition of your phone.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down.
  • Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.
  • Press the Volume Down key once to move the cursor from FASTBOOT to RECOVERY.
  • Press the Power key to begin the wipe.
  • The device displays the bootup screen followed by a phone with a red triangle.
  • Press the Up Volume key and Power key at the same time.
  • Press the Down Volume key three times to select Wipe cache partition.
  • Press the Power key to initiate the wipe.
  • Wait until the phone displays Cache wipe complete.
  • Press the Power key to select Reboot system now.
M8 Keyboard Keeps Disappearing After Lollipop Update
ProblemHi I have been unable to access the solution to this problem on your site.  Since the newest android update 5.0.1 I believe, my keyboard keeps disappearing when trying to send messages or type anything on Google. I was using the HTC sense input keyboard and tried the clearing of data and cache methods with no success.  I even installed the new SwiftKey keyboard but it is still an issue. It is forcing me to restart my phone several times a week.  Any help would be fantastic. Thanks.

  • Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down.
  • Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.

  • Press the Down Volume key three times to select Wipe cache partition.
  • Press the Power key to initiate the wipe.
  • Wait until the phone displays Cache wipe complete.
  • Press the Power key to select Reboot system now.
If the issue persists then do a factory reset. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding.
M8 AdBlock Not Working After Lollipop Update
ProblemHey guys I recently updated my M8 to Lollipop 5.0.1 and I love it.. But the problem is that Adblock Plus doesn’t work anymore and these ads are annoying me. I should also say my M8 is NOT rooted and I don’t plan to root it anytime soon. I know it’s app specific but can you suggest a fix or another app without rooting? Regards.
Solution: you may be using an older version of the app which isn’t compatible yet with the Lollipop update. Uninstall AdBlock then install a fresh copy from the Google Play Store.
M8 Incorrect Available Storage Space
ProblemI am having storage issues with my phone. My phone has 16.0GB capacity and I also have an 8.0GB sd card. I’m constantly getting a warning message reading ‘Increase storage space by removing uncessary data’. When I click into this it brings me to the ‘make more space’ menu under settings>storage. Here it lists the space I have on my phone. I have removed almost everything from my phone apart from a few pics and apps that I use daily. I don’t see why there is a storage issue when there isn’t much on it. It seems as if something is bloating the storage. It is telling me that I am using 15.83GB out of 16.00GB but I don’t think I am.
Another problem I have which I don’t know if it is connected or not is that there is a large video taken on my phone which won’t move. I’ve tried to move it to my SD card, put it on my PC, upload to google drive, split it into smaller segments but it constantly fails with a message ‘unable to move selected data because there is a problem with your storage’ My pictures are set to store on the SD card. I’ve cleaned this up also. Have you any advice or ideas on what the issue could be. I could delete the video (approx 5GB) but I’d really rather out it on my PC as it’s an important video to me. Any help you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Solution: Your phone may be storing a huge amount of temporary dat. To clear this out you should wipe the cache partition of your phone.
Regarding the video issue you can try moving this file to your computer using the HTC Sync Manager software.
